Anne was diagnosed at 43 and has remained involved in her breast cancer support group—which is how she learned about the Rare Chair Affair. Her interest in painting as a hobby, coupled with her active promotion of breast health in the school at which she teaches is all coming together with this project. “This was a natural extension of both my personal interests and a way to continue to help in the breast cancer community.” She enjoys helping others manage their own diagnosis and “demonstrating to family and friends that a diagnosis is not the end, but a new beginning to a different phase of life. There was a life BC (before cancer) and there can be a new life AC (after cancer.)”
